The other day I posted about Six of Crows on bookstagram because after nearly two years of owning it I still have yet to even pick it up – I like leaving my hyped books on the shelf to age like some sort of fine wine I guess. Anyway, Six of Crows got me thinking: what other popular/hyped books have I still not read despite owning them/having them on my TBR for who knows how long?
Six of Crows // Leigh Bardugo
I’ve said the words ‘Six of Crows‘ twice already in this post but I’m gonna say it again because it’s probably the worst one on this list (TWO YEARS).
A Gathering of Shadows + A Conjuring of Light // V.E. Schwab
Okay, these ones have only been on my shelves for a couple of months but I literally own the ENTIRE series and haven’t made it past the first book yet … which I only read for the first time a few months ago
Lord of Shadows // Cassandra Clare
Remember when I bought this the day it came out and was so excited about it in general that I reread Lady Midnight to prepare and then I … didn’t read it. It’s happening this month I am determined.
Milk & Honey // Rupi Kaur
It hurts me how I haven’t read this yet (we’re not gonna talk about how I also own The Sun and Her Flowers and haven’t read it either). I honestly haven’t been in the mood for poetry since I finished my summer poetry course.
The Cruel Prince // Holly Black
Literally one of my most anticipated releases of this year and everyone’s raved about it and it’s got such a good goodreads rating why did I not read this the second I bought it because I KNOW it’s going to sit on my shelves for minimum six months now.
Flame in the Mist // Renee Ahdieh
In a couple of months I’ll have owned this book for a year … it was one of my most anticipated releases last year … I might be a little ashamed about this one
Strange the Dreamer // Laini Taylor
It seems like everyone loves this book and I wanna love it so, I’m almost tempted to buy the US cover just so I can.
The ‘I still haven’t read these but I’m not mad about it’ honourable mentions: Our Dark Duet, They Both Die at the End, Wintersong, The Hazel Wood, An Enchantment of Ravens.
I’m sure if I went through my TBR there’s a whole bunch that I’m missing but that’s all for now, maybe this will also be my ‘Cassie please read these before the year ends’ TBR.
