Prodigy Prince // Natasha Sapienza

Actual Rating: 3.5/5 ⭐

I was given a free copy by the author (thank you!) in exchange for an honest review, all thoughts and opinions are my own. This review is mildly-spoilery.

Synopsis [From Goodreads]:

At seventeen, all Prince Nuelle had ever known was safety and peace while living in the Supreme Palace of Zephoris.

But one night, his older brother, Tane, defies their father by traveling to a cursed land. Now Nuelle holds the signet-ring and carries more responsibility than even Tane bore. Thrust from the palace and sent to a knight-building academy, Nuelle must discover his purpose for the entire kingdom’s sake.

From his place of banishment, Prince Antikai has been exacting revenge through fear and rebellions. Nuelle has the potential to defeat him, but he needs the help of a powerful book and six gifted youths.

Summoned by Antikai, shape-shifting beasts and other enemies hunt Nuelle and the Acumen. If either is destroyed, the faithful citizens in Zephoris will perish, and darkness will rule forever.

Rereadable: Lady Midnight | Cassandra Clare [Spoilers!]

lm

Lady Midnight // Cassandra Clare

“There was beauty in the idea of freedom, but it was an illusion.

Every human heart was chained by love.”

Rating on Reread: 5/5

Mostly rambling, slightly reviewing, welcome to a new post series on my little blog all about rereading. I’m not that big of a rereader and besides a handful of them, books tend to be pretty one and done for me. That being said, I’m ALWAYS going on about how I want to reread this or how I’m due for a reread of that; there’s so many books that I’m dying to get into again but I feel a little guilty ignoring my (already huge) TBR so … I thought by making whole posts dedicated to just rereading I would have the perfect excuse to not feel guilty because it’s for the blog.

Lady Midnight is the perfect book to start with because it was the one book that I was dying to reread, I hardly remembered anything from my first read and with the sequel fast approaching I knew I would need to read Lady Midnight again anyway.  When I first read Lady Midnight I hadn’t actually been planning to, in fact I was pretty sure I was done with the Shadowhunters world altogether but boy was I wrong.

July TBR

TBR

It’s been a while since I’ve set a monthly TBR, I don’t usually do them because I always end up feeling really restricted and like I have to read only those books. But, I also keep skipping over books on my TBR shelves because I’m “not quite ready to read that yet” so this month I randomly selected (using the good old paper slips in the jar method, these books are marked with an +) a few from my shelves and I also went a little wild with my library’s hold feature 😅

I figured sharing them here with you would keep me motivated to climb this small mountain of books I have in store for me.

This Savage Song // Victoria Schwab ( Semi Spoiler Free! )

“It was a cruel trick of the universe, thought August, that he only felt human after doing something monstrous”

Actual Rating: 4 / 5

I finished This Savage Song a few months ago and I’ve been sitting on this review ever since and I’ve come to the conclusion that I just don’t have a whole lot to say about this book. However, that doesn’t mean I didn’t like it, because I did like it, quite a lot actually … 4/5 stars a lot. This Savage Song was an absolutely fun read that hooked its claws into me and didn’t let go, I had to stop myself from reading the second half entirely in one go. So, I’m going to turn this review into more of a pros/cons list which I think fits my thoughts a lot better. Semi – Spoilery below!
